Thriller Addictions!!! #1

Hey Guys!
Vanilla here.

And I became more busy than I intended to. My relatives were in town the past week and it halted all activities temporarily. I could not even update Hamster Rush! But due to the lack of wi-fi outside, when assisting to tour them around, I bought books to kill time and me being a bit 'shy' and 'timid' to try the more thriller and action packed books like those Detective-solve-homicide-case books, bought child horror books and ONE James Patterson's Woman's Murder Club Series book; The Fourth of July. And They moment I read the first chapter, I was so hooked and enthralled by the book that I finished it up in a week! Now I am so pumped for such similar books that I bought "5th Horseman" and "ZOO" from the same author.

And to be completely honest that despite being one of the most huge James Patterson Fan, mainly because of Maximum Ride, I was pretty confused with the characters, not that it is bad. I did not even read the 3 books before these! But I am really planning on doing something about that, like getting those books and reading them but my local library had only the next book. I would give a definite 3 out of 5 ice cream cones. The build up tension, thrill and heart racing climax plus ending was spectacular (with the little tints of romance and law), it is amazing.
And also with this review, I decided that I would also give in writing tips. I may not be perfect with my uploading schedule but I claim myself to have good writing skills. Not Epic and sort. But good.
Maybe I will do it to the next post I do about How To Build Up Tension (in climax or not)

Until then keep your Vanilla Ice Creams dripping!

Book series to get addicted to this November!

Hey Guys!
Vanilla here.

And its November.. just like that! Halloween was.. well Halloween. I thought this month would never come though.. and of course with new month, comes new things to get your nose into. I actually have 3 series in which 2 of them already have been written a while back. But I will give some nice reviews on books you may want to indulge in this month!

See, November is a month of some nice and quiet atmosphere, but to spice it up, Action and Thriller Books are the one required! If you would read quiet and serene books, I will surely tell you, It will be like matching black pants and black shirt.. you need to have variety and colors and that is why I found some interesting things along! Enjoy!

No. 1: Maximum Ride Series
           By James Patterson

Puh-leese, the Maximum Ride Series have been the best action-adventure book ever written! It really reflects and shows the personality of Max, along with her flock, who seemed to be 98% Human and 2% Avian. Leg-go. It really reflects on Max, who is the (female) leader and her sass, as well as how her need to be the 'one in charge' always led her and her flock to make decisions and yet be able to bear the consequences and not point fingers at one another. I feel it is a really spellbinding book with romance and horror elements, James Patterson is the only person who is able to blend contrasting elements together and still make an amazing book that defines the mind of someone who is discriminated and different from the society. He is truly able to capture an emotion and play with it, making up want for more. I am definitely giving a 4 ice cream cones out of 5 for the amazing-ness involved.

No. 2: The Hunger Games Series
            By Suzanne Collins

This trilogy is really the epitome for adventure and survival. This book is able to perfectly capture the impulse of sudden moves as well as the various dangers one is able to face AND overcome. Like Maximum Ride, it has a blend of romance and horror elements. I just get mesmerized by how she can pull off with making such twists and really trap the emotions and describe every scene and thought with a lot of emotions. This book was really something I feel Suzanne Collins gave proof that even of there is a book with killing, it would not be disgusting or emotional, yet it made you feel something. She sure knows how to keep us at the edge of our seats. I would give 3 ice cream cones out of five.

No. 3: The Perfectionists (currently, only first book is out)
            By Sara Shepard

This  novel/ maybe series is a very amazing book I have really read, pertaining smart villains. Being an absolute lover of the Pretty Little Lairs fan, I really had high expectations of this upcoming beauty. The only fact that left me disappointed is that it has the same number of characters and is written in almost-same format. But I can assure you that it would end its mystery earlier and neater than PLL did. And if you really loathe cliffhangers, this is a better option than Pretty Little Liars, because as fact, the series is not yet over. It is ongoing, both the one on TV and Books. Well.... But when it comes to complicated mess, forced lies and evil plans, Sara Shepard is right on that role! It is really nice how at least the content is not as lengthening as PLL. Yet, I would go for 2 ice cream cones out of five in this one. I know Sara can do better!

This is my view, hope you like it too and if you want to look for something on wattpad filled with tantalizing action and gruesome murders? Check out 'White Lies' and its sequel, 'Red Leather' by the username, 'help-me-think-of-one', because it is absolute delish!
The book really has some amazing horror and evil elements blended perfectly together and can get you wanting more this November! I will be giving it two and a half ice cream cones out of five for this one!

I hope you like this proper nerdy and book-y post! Keep you vanilla ice cream dripping!

Paranormal Torture! #1

Recently, I have been working on the climax of my book, Hamster Rush [I'll put the link below], and I was looking at horror games and more adventure-y stuff. So, I looked up games like 'The Midnight Game' and 'The Three Kings'. Of course, I would not be trying them though I have interest to do so but I a not risking any bad energy in my house. I am big on god.

So, as I ran out of spooky games to list, I decided to chug on Paranormal stuff. You know, paranormal books and movies but can we be real? It is SO frustrating to read on such lame stuff like demon possessions and un-natural presence.. like the idea of abnormal stuff is interesting.. but movies like Paranormal Activity seriously need to chill. Because I feel it isn't paranormal.. its horror. And it frustrates me when people mix it up..

So, I looked in for books (which sucked too -_-) but I promise in my next post I will get a list of books and wattpad books of Paranormal for you guys to indulge on. But if you are the type who does not like horror.. paranormal should be your type.. but directors these days though.

It is pretty much a torture to  know society is like this.. well I actually want to do a review on the Paranormal activity franchise and for me (I'm harsh and picky in movies though), I'll give it 1.5 out of 5 vanilla cones.

Firstly, the plot i so screwed up after the first movie.. the cast becoming so confusing and things starting to get haywire. Later.. things are not as horrific. I deeply do not understand why it is a hit. Becaus I personally thought that Insidious was an excellent paranormal movie though chapter 2 was such a killer. And the 'Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones' was pretty good at the start but got all stupid at the end. And all that Ana part was so ballistic. Also the fact the 'demon' inside Katie so powerful, why doesn't it kill the planet instead of hiding, given that through several movies, no form of spiritual stuff can kill you? The plot is screwed up and is the the people were high when writing the story. Well, i still love horror movies and I am not saying it is completely bad. Some ideas like the cameras were good.
But if you are a PA fan; I do not want to offend you but this is for the benefit of those who want excellent movies to watch.
